Mahoosuc Notch

Mahoosuc Notch is known as the “toughest mile on the Appalachian Trail.” It is located in the¬†Mahoosuc Range of western Maine, between Fulling Mill Mountain and Mahoosuc Mountain. The challenge is not so much the steepness as the terrain. The trail is an obstacle course strewn with large boulders that must be climbed over, around or under, and requires squeezing through tight spaces.
